Is it wise to ignore your ex?

Have you heard people say that you should ignore your ex after the breakup?

This is a strategy that some experts suggest using... basically, it means you shut down all communication with your ex for a certain period of time.

What do you think? Is this "total radio silence" a good idea?

Well, I've done quite a bit of research on the topic, and the results are pretty damn convincing...

This strategy WORKS.  Like, really well.

(I'm not going to claim that I "invented" this concept, but I'd like to think I helped make it one of the most-recommended strategies to winning your ex back.)

The reason ignoring your ex is so effective is pretty simple:  it will make him miss you. You see... humans are creatures of habit.  During your time together, your ex becomes accustomed to having you around.  You were there for him when he needed someone to talk to, when he wasn't feeling well, when he was bored, etc.

After you broke up, your ex was suddenly facing a new reality:  that you might not be around anymore.  That you might not be there to reply to his texts, make his dinner, and listen to him bitch about his boss. But, because your ex probably isn't an idiot, he knows that breaking up with you doesn't have to mean losing you completely, at least, not at first.

Chances are if your ex called you right now, you'd pick up, right? And if he asked you to meet him for coffee to talk about that irritating boss, you'd agree, wouldn't you? So really, since you're still going to talk with him whenever he wants, he hasn't really lost you at all, has he?

He's got "the best of both worlds".  He gets to break up with you, but he still has you on standby, and knows you'll be around to talk to or to be "plan B" in case he doesn't like being single.  THAT'S why you need to stop talking to your ex after the breakup.......It's because he needs to be forced into learning what it's like when you're not around.

...It's because he needs to feel the pain of losing you completely. .It's because he needs to realize that breaking up with you means he loses you completely and forever. It's because he needs to see that you'll be more than happy to replace him with some new chick.
